While taking a class isn’t necessary, some classes offer a pass guarantee. This means if you fail the state exam, they’ll pay for you to take it again. Besides, being prepared will help immensely.

Apply & Take State Exam

Once you apply, you’ll go and take the state exam which consists of two 3.5 hour sections. If you pass, you’re a licensed roofer!

Get a Surety Bond & Live Scan

A surety bond will be your insurance and cost around $1,000. A live scan is when you get your fingerprints scanned for records. After this, you are 100% ready to be a roofing contractor!

If you’re interested in becoming a roofer, do research into online schools and good jobs to gain experience. Once you have those, apply yourself and you’ll reach your goal.
